Yes, Hitler Really Did Take the Guns Before Throwing Jews into Concentration Camps (or Gas Chambers)

They say those who learn nothing from history are doomed to repeat it, but then again, sometimes repeating history is exactly the point, as longtime anti-gun Sen. Dianne Feinstein’s new “assault weapons ban” planned legislation for early next year proves.



Feinstein, a California Democrat, was instrumental in enacting a similar piece of legislation in 1994; with the help of President Clinton and Democratic majorities in both Houses of Congress, that ban lasted a decade before being allowed to expire by a Republican-controlled Congress in 2004.


But her current measure would go much further and, in many ways, actually mirrors anti-gun measures enacted nearly 75 years ago by Nazi leader Adolph Hitler, in a bid to disarm a particular ethnic group he loathed.

This is gun control redux

Prior to 1938, when Hitler’s new restrictions were put in place, the earlier Weimar Republic government had already enacted gun registration. “The laws adopted by the Weimar Republic intended to disarm Nazis and Communists were sufficiently discretionary that the Nazis managed to use them against their enemies once they were in power,” says Clayton Cramer, author of the book Firing Back, as told to the website The Straight Dope. So what Hitler essentially did was strengthen existing German law (which was aimed primarily at preventing Jews from being armed).

And that is the all-important difference. Bernard E. Harcourt, writing for the University of Chicago Law School and Political Science Department, notes:

If you read the 1938 Nazi gun laws closely and compare them to earlier 1928 Weimar gun legislation – as a straightforward exercise of statutory interpretation – several conclusions become clear. First, with regard to possession and carrying of firearms, the Nazi regime relaxed the gun laws that were in place in Germany at the time the Nazis seized power. Second, the Nazi gun laws of 1938 specifically banned Jewish persons from obtaining a license to manufacture firearms or ammunition. Third, approximately eight months after enacting the 1938 Nazi gun laws, Hitler imposed regulations prohibiting Jewish persons from possessing any dangerous weapons, including firearms.

The point was, Hitler had it in for the Jews, so he first disarmed them before carrying out his murderous campaign against them. And, unable to resist, millions died.

“In Germany, firearm registration helped lead to the holocaust,” National Rifle Association executive vice president Wayne LaPierre wrote in his book, “Gun, Crimes and Freedom.”

Nothing new under the sun

Here are some key aspects of the 1938 law:

– Police permission was required to own a handgun;

– All firearms had to be registered;

– Any Germans who enjoyed shooting bolt-action rifles were told to join the army “if they wished to shoot ‘military’ rifles,” writes LaPierre, in his book;

– The Nazi regime “also enacted the “Regulations against Jews’ possession of weapons” within the days of Kristallnacht – the ‘night of broken glass’ – when stormtroopers attacked synagogues and Jews throughout Germany,” he wrote;

– Firearms registration lists were used to identify (and persecute) gun owners (bear in mind that a New York newspaper just published the names and addresses of legal handgun permit holders after obtaining them via a Freedom of Information Act request, because permit holders by the very nature of obtaining the permit had to be registered [http://www.naturalnews.com/038479_gun_owners_New_York_newspaper.html]).

Let’s compare these Nazi-era gun control requirements to what Feinstein is proposing. As posted on her Senate website, her legislation would:

– Ban the sale, transfer, importation or manufacture of 120 specifically-named firearms;

– “Certain other semiautomatic rifles, handguns, shotguns that can accept a detachable magazine and have one or more military characteristics;”

– “Semiautomatic rifles and handguns with a fixed magazine that can accept more than 10 rounds;”

– Require that currently owned weapons that would be grandfathered in nevertheless be registered under the National Firearms Act;

– Require a background check of any owner and/or transferee;

– Provide the government with the type and serial number of the weapon;

– Require a photograph and fingerprint to be on file with the government;

– “Dedicated funding for [Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives] to implement registration” of firearms (keep in mind the BATF is the federal agency responsible for launching “Operation Fast and Furious,” in which federal agents supplied thousands of weapons Feinstein wants to ban to Mexican drug gangs, several of which have since been tied to the murders of Mexican citizens and U.S. federal agents [http://www.naturalnews.com]).

What we’ve seen before, we may see again

It doesn’t take a genius (or conspiracy theorist) to figure out the parallels between Nazi gun control laws and some of the same provisions being pushed by Feinstein. Understanding that our country is not a totalitarian state (yet), Feinstein and other gun-controllers like President Obama, New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg and others all know they have to take a longer, more measured approach to disarming the U.S. public, that they can’t just mandate it overnight.

But make no mistake, new gun control laws like those being proposed are nothing more than rehashed mandates dredged up from the past, with similar intentions: To make political opponents and the masses less powerful and less able to resist.

The Californian Congressman heading up a group of Representatives who have demanded an explanation for massive ammunition purchases by the government explained yesterday that he feels duty bound to investigate the matter in a time when many Americans do not trust their government.
Rep. Doug LaMalfa (CA), stated in a Fox News interview that he and fourteen other Congressman wrote to the Department of Homeland Security for answers because Americans deserve an explanation for what is a highly unusual situation.
“There is a big mistrust by many many people of their government these days and so when they ask me to check in on this, I think it is my duty as an elected official, as a representative, to get to the bottom.” LaMalfa told host Megyn Kelly.
“These are just questions that we think are appropriate, need to be asked, and they come from the people across the country.” he added.
LaMalfa explained that the DHS’s explanation so far in its purchase of close to 2 billion hollow point bullets has not been acceptable, describing it as “a heck of a lot of rounds of ammunition and for some very dubious-sounding reasons.”
“…people are wondering why, for example, is the Social Security Administration getting almost 200,000 rounds of hollow point ammunition.” LaMalfa said. “What is it about our social security checks and administration that we have guys toting hollow point around with them?”
“If it’s for target practice, there is an awful lot of hollow point going out to these various agencies, that are not appropriate for target practice because they are much more costly rounds.” The Congressman noted.
“So it’s one thing to have the right people go out and do the practice that they need to do, but I think this is certainly worthy of a series of questions because a lot of people want to know.” he added.
“In this time of sequester where everything is a disaster, do they really have that kind of money to be spending on this amount of ammunition? Especially at a time when they are releasing many hardened criminals across the country.” LaMalfa also noted, referring to the recently uncovered strategy to release hundreds of prisoners in order to meet budget cuts.
The Congressman also pointed to the fact that the ammo buys are contributing to nationwide shortages.
“… all told it’s about 2 billion rounds out there and yes, local law enforcement is having a hard time. They are having to buy from people they know that might have a stash, or other means that really isn’t very professional.” The Congressman said.
“It seems unusual and I think it is sending a wrong message to the people of this nation when they can’t buy their own ammunition. Our law enforcement can’t seem to buy their own ammunition.” he urged.
When asked if he believed the “conspiracy theories” that the government was preparing for civil unrest or intentionally attempting to restrict ammunition supplies, LaMalfa said “Well, that might be reaching a little far,” but added the caveat “There are people making fun of it a little bit, and you are using these words ‘paranoia’, but I think these questions are very appropriate.”
LaMalfa also said that the DHS has acknowledged his letter, and that he is now waiting for the agency to process an official response.
As we reported last week, other members of Congress who have asked similar questions to those posed by LaMalfa have been rebuffed.

In response to his video targeting the Second Amendment, the late Charlton Heston, and millions of Americans the establishment media derisively calls members of the “gun culture,” Change.org has posted a petition calling for Carrey to be deported back to his homeland, Canada.

Serbu Firearms Refuses to Sell .50 Cal Sniper Rifles to NYPD

Serbu Firearms, a manufacturer of bolt-action and semi-automatic .50 caliber sniper rifles, is refusing to sell their wares to the NYPD. Their reason, of course, is that owing to unfair gun laws, they will not support law enforcement in New York.

Serbu is one of almost 150 companies that has officially refused to sell to law enforcement in New York following the passage of the SAFE Act, the controversial gun control package that has been met with scorn by gun owners across the nation.

The company posted the NYPD’s inquiry as well as their refusal to their Facebook page, with names omitted.

Arms build-up continues as Congress demands answers

While the Department of Homeland Security continues to ignore members of Congress demanding to know why the federal agency is engaged in an apparent arms build-up, the DHS has just announced it plans to purchase another 360,000 rounds of hollow point ammunition to add to the roughly 2 billion bullets already bought over the past year.

A solicitation on the Federal Business Opportunities website details the DHS’ plan to purchase 360,000 rounds of “Commercial leaded training ammo (CLTA) Pistol .40 caliber 165 grain, jacketed hollow point.” The bullets are to be delivered to the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Artesia, New Mexico, the same destination for 240,000 hollow point rounds which were purchased only last month.

Although the DHS has attempted to explain its mammoth purchase of ammunition by claiming the bullets are being acquired in bulk to save money and that they are for training purposes only, this has been disputed by reputable voices such as former Marine Richard Mason, who told reporters with WHPTV News in Pennsylvania earlier this month, “We never trained with hollow points, we didn’t even see hollow points my entire four and a half years in the Marine Corps.”

Hollow point bullets are almost twice as expensive as full metal jackets, therefore the DHS’ explanation that it is buying huge quantities in bulk to “save money” doesn’t make sense.

As we reported yesterday, concerns about the apparent arms build-up are growing, with retired United States Army Captain Terry M. Hestilow sending a letter to Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) warning that the ammo purchases represent “a bold threat of war by that agency (DHS), and the Obama administration, against the citizens of the United States of America.”

Questions from members of Congress about why the federal agency is buying up ammo, exacerbating shortages across the country, have been met with silence.

- Kansas Congressman Timothy Huelscamp said last week that threats should be made to withdraw funding from the DHS if it didn’t explain why it was purchasing so many bullets, remarking, “They have no answer for that question. They refuse to answer to answer that.”

- Earlier this month, New Jersey Congressman Leonard Lance said, “Congress has a responsibility to ask Secretary Napolitano as to exactly why these purchases have occurred,” signaling his intention to get answers.

- Californian Congressman Doug LaMalfa and 14 of his House colleagues have written a letter to the Department of Homeland Security asking if the purchases are, “being conducted in a manner that strategically denies the American people access to ammunition.”

Although members of Congress are treating the matter with the seriousness it deserves, the mainstream and leftist media have attempted to ridicule the entire issue as a conspiracy theory, with Atlantic Wire even suggesting that the story had its origins in a debunked email, a report that completely failed to even mention the admitted fact that the DHS had purchased around 2 billion bullets.

While the DHS continues to purchase bullets in large quantities, police departments have been forced to barter amongst each other in a desperate scramble to meet their ammo needs.

On Saturday, retired United States Army Captain Terry M. Hestilow publicly voiced grave concerns over the Department of Homeland Security’s absurd acquisitions, posting a letter he sent to Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) on Facebook labeling the Obama administration’s recent appropriation of weapons a “bold threat of war” against citizens of the United States of America.

“It is with gravest concern that I write to you today concerning the recent appropriation of weapons by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) that can only be understood as a bold threat of war by that agency, and the Obama administration, against the citizens of the United States of America,” the decorated retired Army Captain’s letter begins.


Referring to the DHS’ solicitations for nearly two billion rounds of ammunition and recent purchase of almost 3,000 mine-resistant ambush protected armored personnel carriers as “a tyrannical threat against the Constitution” and a deliberate attempt to defund the Department of Defense, the retired Army Captain asked Sen. Cornyn to honor his oath to the American people and the U.S. Constitution and “to demand in clear terms that the Administration cannot ignore, that the Department of Homeland Security immediately surrender their newly appropriated weapons of war to the Department of Defense (DoD).”



“Significant is the fact,” Captain Hestilow writes, “that at the same time the Obama administration is arming his DHS for war within the limits of the United States against the People of the United States in accordance with his 2008 campaign speech claiming,

‘We cannot continue to rely only on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives that we’ve set. We’ve gotta (sic) have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well funded [as the United States military]‘–Candidate Barack Obama, 2008.”

“Further, since the DHS has assumed a position in the Administration to enforce the tyrannical acts of this president against the People of the United States against the limits of the United States Constitution, it remains for the United States Congress to exercise its limiting power in the balancing of powers established by our founding fathers, to disestablish and dissolve the DHS as soon as possible,” the retired Captain’s letter continues.

Calling the DHS purchases a “glaring threat of war against our nation’s citizens,” Hestilow says the actions “can only be understood as a tyrannical threat against the Constitution of the United States of America.”

“If left unresolved,” Hestilow states, “the peace loving citizens who have sworn to defend the United States Constitution ‘against all enemies, both foreign and domestic’ are left no option except to prepare to defend themselves, and the U.S. Constitution, against this Administration’s ‘coup’ against the People and the foundations of liberty fought for and defended for the past 238 years. We have no choice if we honor our oaths.”

The former Army Captain cites Adolf Hitler’s rise to power as evidence of the outcome of allowing such an agency free rein, stating,

“One needs only to look to the rise of Adolf Hitler, and his associated DHS organizations, the SA and the SS, of 1932-1934, to see the outcome of allowing an agency of government this kind of control over the free citizens of a nation. The people of Germany could not have imagined, until it was too late, the danger of allowing a tyrant this kind of power. We must not be so naïve as to think it will not happen to us as well if we remain passive toward this power grab by the Marxist Obama administration!”

The post is garnering unprecedented support, according to the retired Captain. Within a day, he says it has received over 3,000 shares, in addition to lassoing in 994 new friend requests. He is also encouraging others to copy and properly amend the letter to send to their own senators and members of the U.S. House.


The retired Army Captain’s message follows another letter penned by 15 Congressmen earlier in the week to the DHS asking if the ammo purchases were part of an effort to strategically deny American people access to ammunition.

“The extraordinary level of ammunition purchases made by Homeland Security seems to have, in states such as my own, created an extreme shortage of ammunition to the point where many gun owners are unable to purchase any,” California Congressman Doug LaMalfa wrote in the letter.

Concerns that the DHS is engaged in a domestic arms buildup against the People have also been echoed by notable political figures and such mainstream publications as Forbes Magazine, who earlier this month called for a “national conversation” on the topic.

Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin was recently portrayed by media as a “conspiracy theorist” after she posted a remark on Facebook warning that imminent financial collapse could be the reason “why the Feds are stockpiling bullets in case of civil unrest.”

Similar concerns were also recently made public by Fox Business host Lou Dobbs when he asked NRA president Wayne LaPierre, during his March 4 broadcast, about the bizarre solicitations.

As an overwhelming number of Americans grow distressed over the curious purchases, mainstream media agencies, such as the Associated Press, Politico, Media Matters, and the Atlantic Wire, have frantically tried to tamp down speculation of a threat to civil liberties, refusing to conduct actual research into the subject and instead regurgitating superficial explanations issued by government officials.

A recent report that the DHS holds a $2 million contract with a firing range target manufacturer that produces shooting targets of armed pregnant women, children and elderly gun owners depicted in residential settings, has also not helped suppress speculation.

Despite numerous pleas to address the matter, the DHS has yet to issue a plausible explanation as to why they have apparently been building up a veritable ammunition and firearm stockpile domestically – purchasing profane amounts of riot gear, armored military vehicles, bulletproof checkpoints, and some 7,000 fully automatic assault rifles – and still refuses to answer questions from citizen journalists and multiple elected representatives.

Dear Senator Cornyn,

It is with gravest concern that I write to you today concerning the recent appropriation of weapons by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) that can only be understood as a bold threat of war by that agency, and the Obama administration, against the citizens of the United States of America. To date, DHS has been unwilling to provide to you, the elected representatives of the People, justification for recent purchases of almost 3,000 mine-resistant ambush-protected (MRAP) armored personnel carriers, 1.6 billion rounds of ammunition (with associated weapons), and other weapons systems, when, in fact, the DHS has no war mission or war making authority within the limits of the United States of America.

Significant is the fact that at the same time the Obama administration is arming his DHS for war within the limits of the United States against the People of the United States in accordance with his 2008 campaign speech claiming,

“We cannot continue to rely only on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives that we’ve set. We’ve gotta (sic) have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well funded [as the United States military]”–Candidate Barack Obama, 2008.

the Obama administration is deliberately defunding, overextending, and hollowing the Department of Defense; the only legitimate agency of the U.S. government with a war mission.

This act of the Obama administration stands as a glaring threat of war against our nation’s citizens! This act of the Obama administration can only be understood as a tyrannical threat against the Constitution of the United States of America! If left unresolved, the peace loving citizens who have sworn to defend the United States Constitution “against all enemies, both foreign and domestic” are left no option except to prepare to defend themselves, and the U.S. Constitution, against this Administration’s “coup” against the People and the foundations of liberty fought for and defended for the past 238 years. We have no choice if we honor our oaths.

The only proper response to this threat against the American people is for the representatives of the People, the members of the U.S. House and Senate, to demand in clear terms that the Administration cannot ignore, that the Department of Homeland Security immediately surrender their newly appropriated weapons of war to the Department of Defense (DoD). Further, since the DHS has assumed a position in the Administration to enforce the tyrannical acts of this president against the People of the United States against the limits of the United States Constitution, it remains for the United States Congress to exercise its limiting power in the balancing of powers established by our founding fathers, to disestablish and dissolve the DHS as soon as possible. One needs only to look to the rise of Adolf Hitler, and his associated DHS organizations, the SA and the SS, of 1932-1934, to see the outcome of allowing an agency of government this kind of control over the free citizens of a nation. The people of Germany could not have imagined, until it was too late, the danger of allowing a tyrant this kind of power. We must not be so naïve as to think it will not happen to us as well if we remain passive toward this power grab by the Marxist Obama administration!

Finally, for more than two centuries the nation has lived in peace at home because of the protections of our legitimate military and the many appropriate state and federal law enforcement agencies, supported by Constitutional courts. We stand today at a cross-road. Will we allow this present Administration to overthrow our United States Constitution and its legal processes to amend injustices, or, will we honor our obligations to defend the Constitution against a “domestic” enemy? Our Constitution lays out the proper methods of resolving our differences; and it does not include its overthrow by a rogue agency of a Marxist leadership at home. You, sir, are our constitutionally elected agent to defend our Constitution at home. We are counting upon you. We remain aware, however, of this present threat and will not expose ourselves as an easy prey to the authors of the destruction of our nation.

I know that this letter demands much of you. We elected you because we, the citizens of the State of Texas, believe that you are up to the task at hand and will, against all threats, honor your oath and office. We are also writing to your fellow members of the House and Senate to stand in integrity with the Constitution and against this present threat by the Obama administration and his DHS.

We refuse to surrender our Constitution or our nation!
