Trump talks economy to hundreds of black leaders
The GOP nominee spoke with hundreds of black church leaders in attendance at the Great Faith Ministries Church in Detroit, Mich., on Saturday.
Trump also conducted an interview with Bishop Wayne Jackson for Jackson’s Impact Network.
“Christian faith is not the past, but the present and future,” he said. “…So as I prepare to campaign all across the nation, in every community I will have an opportunity to lay out my plans for economic change which will be good for Detroit – and so good for this community by bringing jobs back.”
“I will have a chance to bring them back. We’re taking them back from Mexico and everywhere else because they’re gone.”Pastor Mark Burns, who frequently introduces Trump at campaign rallies, said he’d be better for African-Americans than any Democrat.“Well I think you’ll be able to see how Mr. Trump really does care and can relate to the African-American community more so than has Trump at a majority African-American congregation,” Burns said. “This is just the beginning.”Conversely, Bill Clinton, Hillary’s de facto running mate, suggested that Detroit should “resettle” Syrian refugees to take over the abandoned houses left behind by former residents who lost their jobs.“Detroit has 10,000 empty, structurally sound houses — 10,000, and lot of jobs to be had repairing those houses,” he said during a Feb. speech. “Detroit just came out of bankruptcy and the mayor’s trying to do an innovative sort of urban homesteading program there, but it just gives you an example of what could be done.”“And I think any of us who have ever had any personal experience with either Syrian Americans or Syrian refugees think it’s a pretty good deal.”Facebook: RealKitDaniels
