Under Obamacare, unsolicited sales calls and spam mail will increase exponentially as taxpayer-funded workers are paid based on the number of Americans they can enroll into the government health program.

The government is granting non-profit organizations millions of dollars to hire Obamacare “Navigators” and “Assisters” who will guide Americans in the federally-sponsored insurance exchanges.

In a letter to HHS, the U.S. House Committee on Energy and Commerce mentioned that one Navigator grant recipient promised to make 240,000 ‘robocalls’ to encourage people to enroll in Obamacare.

Typically used in telemarketing, robocalls deliver a recorded message to random phone numbers in a process well-described as “robotic spam.”

Telemarketing by Navigators and Assisters has been labeled “inappropriate” by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) yet the agency has not informed Congress or the American people about “any measures it has taken to prevent inappropriate marketing practices,” according to the latest staff report by the U.S. House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform.

This report also acknowledged that in some states, Navigators and Assisters are paid based on the amount of Americans they enroll into Obamacare, effectively turning them into taxpayer-funded salespeople who work on commission.

There is no doubt that this Obamacare “sales team” will want to reach as many Americans as possible and telemarketing will skyrocket as a result.

Obamacare sales calls are already taking place.

A member of the AR-15 message board, LurchAddams, said that earlier this month, a telemarketer called him trying to reach his pet dog to “inform” him about his new health care options under Obamacare.

“Every time I place an order online, subscribe to a magazine, or anything that I fear is going to put me on a junk mailing or calling list, I give them my dog’s first name,” he said. “My dog gets all kinds of junk mail and telemarketing calls.”

When LurchAddams told the telemarketer that “Fido” had no health insurance, the Obamacare “sales representative” responded by saying that under Obamacare, there would be plenty of opportunities for Fido to receive the health insurance he needs.

Unfortunately it appears that LurchAddams is one of the first of millions who will receive unsolicited phone calls and spam mail encouraging them to “sign up now to receive the best deals” of Obamacare.
